私は大学の研究者ですが、学長から以下のメールが全員に流れてきました。
以下、抜粋です。
”It has been brought to my attention that the OOO Building’s lobby public restroom was recently vandalized with anti-religious smears on the inside door of a bathroom stall. As Provost, let me be clear that OOO University has zero tolerance for acts of hate, discrimination or harassment against any member of our campus community. Following all appropriate procedures and policies, the University, led by the dean of students and the Office of Campus Safety, immediately began conducting an investigation into this incident.”
"I want to assure each of you that we are currently working to remediate this issue immediately and take the necessary steps in the future to try to prevent such behavior from affecting the members of our University community. At OOO University, the very foundation of our educational philosophy is built on diversity of thought, inclusion, collaboration and mutual respect. We believe in the value of hearing other points of view and we understand that working together with different perspectives enhances learning and outcomes. Discrimination of any kind has no place at OOO University or anywhere in health care or education. "
要するに、学内のある建物で、何者かが特定の宗教を否定する感じでトイレのドアを壊したけど、直ちに調査を開始したし、このようなヘイトや差別やハラスメントを助長する行為は、絶対に許さない、ということです。
ゼロ・トレランスだ！
自分の子供の学校も、たまにいじめやその他の問題について、絶対に許さないというメールが流れてきます。
ワンダーでも、学校側の厳しい姿勢が描かれています。
ちなみに、映画より本がいいですよ、ワンダーは。
このゼロ・トレランス、そうあるべきだと思うんです。
小さいことでも絶対に許さない。
その統一見解が学校にこそ必要だと思うんです。
最近、神戸市立東須磨小学校で、あろうことか教員による教員へのいじめ事件が話題になりましたよね。
事後対応が迅速でなく、甘いと思ってしまいます。
何か発覚したら先生は免職、学生は退学、ばんばんやってほしい。
そして蛇足かもですが、ヘイトを助長するものは、愛知トリエンナーレも含めて、一切国のお金を使わないでほしい。
是非ゼロ・トレランスでやっていただきたいです。
